[...] Custom Toy Lab, a site I frequent way too often, posted this fella a while back. I am AMAZED at the work this person did. Unfortunately there is a link to the artist’s page, but it doesn’t provide much info about the process. You can contact him for a commission though. I will simply admire the awesomeness that is this robot munny. Robots are one of my favorite things in the world, I used to have a tab dedicated to the love, but then I decided to be a little minimalist and cut it out. I might just bring it back. Thanks for all your positive comments, this is my first custom so its good to know I’m doing something right.
Jake, the head was turned on a lathe in 4 pieces: main head, jaw,eye tubes and lenses. The solid bits were made of Modelboard (like a solid block of pre-cast resin) and the lenses were Perspex (Plexiglass). The arms were turned out of the same stuff, silicone molded and cast in resin then heat bent to shape. the chest panel is car body filler placed directly on the Munny (I waxed the body first so I could pop it off and shape it easily). I then filed the lines in the legs and painted the whole thing.
I hope this makes sense.
Cheers,
Freck
